We were thrilled with the first Tables of Contents dinner of 2019, an epic collaboration with our friends and co-conspirators at Riverhead Table and Food Book Fair, hosted at Egg Restaurant.

For one night only, chef Evan Hanczor and author Marlon James collaborated to present a multi-course food experience inspired by Marlon’s blockbuster new novel Black Leopard, Red Wolf.

A stunning first installment in Marlon’s emerging Dark Star Trilogy, Black Leopard, Red Wolf has drawn comparisons to the world-creating of Tolkien and dubbed an “African Game of Thrones.” It is a sprawling, sensual, disorienting, and thrilling journey of a read, and it’s going to make quite a meal.

The special menu included ten courses, with each course inspired by a passage from the novel:

The playlist for the evening was curated by Marlon James and Raia Was.
